THE ASSOCIATION
RÉCUP'ART ANGELS
The association that promotes
The art of upcycling and recycling
adopted by artists, craftspeople and designers committed to the circular economy:
the Récup’Artistes
Non-profit, non-political and multi-faith association
Les Récup'artistes

These are artists, craftspeople and designers
committed to the circular economy.
They place environmental issues at the heart of their practice through recycling, upcycling and makeovers. Their creations bring out the best in objects and materials that have been condemned to the scrap heap and, once in their hands, lose their status as waste objects. Adopting a different approach to art and arts and crafts, they encourage people to
create with what's already there!
For Récup'Artistes, recovering objects and materials and bringing them back to life is much more than a conscious economic choice that makes a tangible contribution to preserving our resources and protecting our environment, it is
a genuine philosophy.
Through their work, they encourage people to move away from unbridled consumerism, to promote alternative forms of creation and to reflect deeply on artistic expression in our society.
By combining the past with the present,
Récup'Artistes help to deliver new messages, not only in the field of sustainable development but also in the field and artistic expression.
Recycled art is not highly valued and is still too marginal
Unless they already enjoy a certain degree of popularity, sustainable artists have little or no chance of making a profit, as they face a number of obstacles.
D'Firstly, it is very time-consuming compared to creating in a traditional art form, where The stages of finding basic materials, are sometimes weighed down by their difficulties in accessing available resources, cleaning, or repairing and meeting unique technical challenges. These difficulties do not exist when creating in a traditional art form, and all of these steps often generate significant costs
Secondly, the often negative perception of waste is reflected in works made from recycled materials or waste objects. This can limit the recognition and financial value of the work of sustainable artists.
Many sustainable artists produce high-quality work, but very few enjoy the same institutional or cultural recognition as artists, craftspeople and designers working in new or traditional media.
Today, opportunities for exhibitions dedicated to recycled art are fairly rare. When they do take place, their impact remains very local. The spaces are often too small to showcase the wide range of applications of recycling and upcycling applications, and few sustainable artists are able to take part.
L
The public often discovers recycled art at craft or art events, where the works of sustainable artists are drowned out by many more creations that have no particular eco-responsible values.
All of these obstacles keep recycled art a vague, unstructured movement aimed at a restricted audience.
Our mission
To raise awareness of the issues surrounding the waste of resources in our consumer society and the recycling of waste
through
recycled art

What are the aims?
-
To stimulate an artistic approach to the recycling of ‘waste objects’..
-
To stimulate in-depth reflection on modes of cultural expression and their impact.
-
Encourage people to take a different look at waste objects, which usually hold negative connotations such as dirtiness and obsolescence.
-
Promote eco-responsible know-how.
-
To instil new environmentally-friendly behaviours based on waste recycling.

How can we promote the values of recycled art?
We are emphasising
the key role played by sustainable artists in the circular economy
by stepping up their
- v i s i b i l i t y -
to
widen their audience
and
remove the obstacles to the distribution and development of recycled art

And more concretely
We create
exceptional events
that highlight
recycled and upcycled art
in their most diverse expressions.
We organise offline and online public events, exhibitions, competitions and fun festivities at exceptional venuessites that respect environmental policies.
Depending on the space available, these events bring together from 50 to over 100 exhibiting artists, to whom we offer very attractive rates for exhibiting, especially when they are members of the association.
Today, the Association operates on a self-financing basis and is not chasing any profits. This makes it possible not only to offer particularly attractive rates to exhibiting Récup'Artistes, but also to offer exhibition opportunities that are just as rewarding for those who are unable to attend in person.
We take every measure to ensure that visitors are made to feel welcome and that their experience is interesting, unique and enjoyable.
